Tools for hire : In July the association purchased a 6.5hp rotovator for the cultivation of members plots If any plot holder requires their plot rotovated please contact Billy Holdsworth (plot 124/5). There are also a hedge cutter, strimmer and chain saw available. POA. 

RESIGNATION (18/09/2016): The Committee must inform Association Members that Mr Peter Whelan has resigned as Chairman and Committee Member.

Peter was instrumental in Saltersgill Allotments becoming “self-managed”, obtaining grants for road improvements, liaison, along with other Committee Members, with the Council, helping to set up the site shop, organising monthly rubbish collections, etc.

It goes without saying that the Committee and Members would like to thank Peter for all the positive work done by him to help bring the Association and site to the improved state we now find it in since becoming self-managed.

2016/17 Rents : Plot holders who have not paid their 2016/17 rents will now be asked to remove their personal possessions from the plots and these plots will be re-let to people from the waiting list.

AGM : As you will all be aware we held our second full Annual General Meeting on Sunday 8th May 2016. The members who attended were updated on the Associations progress throughout the year. It was confirmed that we had been successful in obtaining a grant from Tesco of £12,000 to resurface all the paths apart from Central Avenue. We hope to have this completed by the end of July. The minutes of the meeting will be posted on the website soon.

THE SHOP : is now up and running. You can access a price list and details of opening times by clicking on the shop tag on the left of this page.

We have been contacted by our local PCSO Nicholas Fuller on behalf of Cleveland Police. They are undertaking a crime prevention exercise aimed at Allotment holders and Saltersgill has been selected. The Police Cadets wish to visit one weekend soon to speak to members regarding security and assist with advice and hand out free padlock alarms. We will let you know as soon as we know when this will be.

PLOT CULTIVATION : We now a waiting list for plots. As the site is becoming more popular, we need to ensure that all plots are cultivated. We will be carrying out inspections to ensure that members are complying with the rules and at least 75% of their plots are cultivated.

PLOT AVAILABILITY : At this current time we have a waiting list for plots. If you want a plot at Saltersgill we strongly suggest that you contact
us by the contacts page or email us at your name will be added to the list and you will be contacted when a plot 

WORKDAYS : Normally the first Saturday of the Month. The next workday in the compound is 2nd July 10.00am to 1.00 pm. Please come along and lend a hand.

Event Reports

June Work Day   

We would like to express our thanks to Lynn and Samuel for turning up on a cloudy and dull day. Although it is not much but we have managed to cleared some weeds, move some reusable items from next to the shop to the back of the compound and the rubbish will have to go to the tip.
Although the Work Day's turnout was quite sad, the shop did really well. Thank you to all the customers for your patronage.
